Reflection:
I feel that my class blogs are good representations of my competency in Standard 1. I aim to update each class blog daily, so that both students and parents can keep up to date with the class assignments, schedules, and expectations. I link both required and additional resources to the page so students and parents can access the classroom materials whenever necessary. I also use the blogs as part of my daily routine. I project the day's blog post on the SMART at the beginning of every class period, and I begin my instruction using it as a guide. I find that this strategy opens communication with the students and lets them know what to expect each day. It also provides a means for direction for students who are absent from class.
